Positive thinking can change any day when we learn to just bless their hearts and go on with business as usual. We will never all agree on anything politically. As for me, I choose a kinder gentler approach rather than ambushing folks who are not like minded. To me personally, if you can't just sit and talk about life and not throw barbs, I got no time for ya'. I refuse to be called names because of my political beliefs and life choices. I am way too old to care what y'all think. My friends are loyal and true, no matter what. They tend to be very non-judgemental and accepting of my shortcomings.
Once upon a time my Mama gave me some "big girl panties" for Christmas. I will never forget that gesture, and it reminds me of how she liked to do puzzles and give tips to where your present was. She was clever like that! To her, it was fun. And it was fun for everybody else too. She never sat down to eat until we were all served. In the end, we fixed their plates and enjoyed whatever holiday it was. Birthdays were always special, with a ketchup bottle in the picture. I was born in September 1955 and Bubba in January 1958. Then along came the baby boy in October of 62. Five of us lived in this cabin with one bathroom and didn't kill each other. I can remember when I got my own room upstairs and almost set fire to it. That was a rebel UT moment for sure.
I turned out okay and even excelled in my career. We networked with various owners of our local hospital and even got free dinner on occasion. Always a nice hotel room. As a team, we did CAP inspections at other facilities in Tennessee. Some of those were horrendous but I never just wailed on anybody for trying to do a good job with what they had. Other team members, however, were more critical. That came back to bite us when a Nashville area team came to visit US! Lerd.
In today's news, lots of of the judiciary are putting the whoa ho on Trump's agenda. To be honest, none of this is legal and the courts will drag 'em down. Until they get rid of that branch which is the only check on executive power. Actually Congress has a lot of power to stop this bullshit, but they refuse, for whatever reason. I will be enrolling at Harvard for free to study political science and the Constitution. My degree was earned the hard way at the University of Tennessee. I earned my own way until the last year when my parents had to take out a loan to get me graduated as a certified healthcare provider. The ceremony was held at the Mid South Colliseum in Memphis, Back in the 70s, that place was still a happening venue. That is where I saw Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor and many more. I miss those days. Oh...and Elton John!
When Lauren left for work today she chided me to "have a good day." Do what makes you happy Mom." And I am. Last night's dinner was to die for.....Alfredo pasta and garlic bread. Little things make me so happy and grateful to be alive. I would seriously love to have some of Pax Romano's lasagna but he lives in Jersey. That's a long way away for somebody who can't see to drive.
I beg of all of you who read here. Think outside of the box and consider democracy now. These are dangerous times for all of us and only voters can change things. Mid-terms are coming and God is good. All the time ^j^
